In celebration of Black Breastfeeding Week, we are excited to share a new initiative from the Breastfeeding Family Friendly Community of Richmond Virginia, #RVABreastfeeds/Nurture VA.  

Join Shakeya Lewis, Ebony Allen, Chaka Mayes, and JamiQuan Rudd for the launch of Breastfeeding Real Talk, a safe space for breast/chestfeeding parents who identify as Black or Brown to receive support and encouragement from lactation professionals from similar backgrounds who have received culturally specific lactation support training.

There are two ways to join:

A Facebook Group: moderated by Black and Brown lactation support providers for evidence-based information and support throughout the week.

Session 1 Virtual Meetup which begins during Black Breastfeeding Week and continues for 8 weeks. You may join the virtual meet-ups at any time during the 8 week session.

  • Tuesdays, August 24 – Oct 12, 2021 6:00 – 7:00 PM 
  • Saturdays, August 28 – Oct 16, 20211:00 – 2:00 pm
