Photovoice Virtual Info Session

September 29 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
Free

Breastfeeding Family Friendly Communities and the SAFE Infant Feeding Team are part of a Photovoice project documenting how families in Western North Carolina fed their babies and young children after Hurricane Helene — told by the people who lived it, through their own photographs.

This is a virtual information and recruitment session. Come find out what taking part involves, ask your questions, and sign up if it is right for you.

What taking part looks like

  • Three meetings in all, one of them in person in Asheville
  • You take photographs between October and January
  • A gift card is offered for each meeting you attend
  • The photographs become a public celebration exhibit in spring 2027

Four identical sessions are offered. Come to whichever one fits: Tuesday, September 29 at 1:00 pm or 7:00 pm, or Saturday, October 3 at 10:00 am or 4:00 pm.

Led by Dr. Aunchalee Palmquist of the Duke Global Health Institute, in partnership with the Buncombe Partnership for Children, the UNC Carolina Global Breastfeeding Institute, and the SAFE Infant Feeding Team.
