The Lycoming Clinton Breastfeeding Coalition brings together UPMC Williamsport, WIC, the Pennsylvania Department of Health, Penn College, Lycoming College, the YWCA, and local businesses and advocates across two Pennsylvania counties. Breastfeeding Family Friendly Communities provides technical assistance: the Ten Steps framework, peer learning, needs assessment, and shared tools.

What the coalition has built
- Faith communities. On 27 August 2023 the pastor of St. Boniface and St. Lawrence parishes signed Breastfeeding Welcome Here pledges before two congregations, and families marked the church doors with welcome stickers. It remains the clearest example of faith community engagement anywhere in the BFFC network.
- Government on the record. The Mayor of Williamsport and the Lycoming County Commissioners have issued breastfeeding proclamations, with local media coverage.
- Visible welcome. Breastfeeding Welcome Here signage placed in key community locations.
- Health care. A family resource list developed with UPMC Williamsport.
- Assessment. In December 2024 the team completed a BFFC needs assessment and set a long term goal for business engagement across both counties.
- Shared tools. In early 2026 the coalition joined a BFFC implementation leaders round table and adapted our childcare survey for use in Lycoming and Clinton counties.
