Photovoice In-Person Group Session
Breastfeeding Family Friendly Communities and the SAFE Infant Feeding Team are part of a Photovoice project documenting how families in Western North Carolina fed their babies and young children after Hurricane Helene — told by the people who lived it, through their own photographs.
This is the one in-person meeting of the project. Participants bring the photographs they have taken since October, share them with the group, and work together on the themes that will shape the public exhibit in the spring.
Held at the AmeriHealth Caritas North Carolina Wellness and Opportunity Center, 216 Asheland Ave, Asheville.
Snow date: Thursday, February 18, 2027, 2:30–4:30 pm, same location.
The date and room are held and will be confirmed in October.
Led by Dr. Aunchalee Palmquist of the Duke Global Health Institute, in partnership with the Buncombe Partnership for Children, the UNC Carolina Global Breastfeeding Institute, and the SAFE Infant Feeding Team.
