Position Open for Spring, Summer, and/or Fall 2026

Job Title: Recruitment Coordinator for Breastfeeding Friendly Community Partners

The Recruitment Coordinator will play a vital role in expanding Guilford county’s Breastfeeding Friendly Community Partners initiative. The goal is to recruit historically underutilized businesses (HUBs) to become Breastfeeding Friendly Community Partners, creating a more inclusive and supportive environment for breastfeeding patrons and lactating employees. HUB outreach (a designation defined by North Carolina statute) grows the partner pool; the Breastfeeding Welcome Here award and the Community Partner program are open to every business.

Responsibilities:

• Spend one day per week (10 a.m. to 4 p.m.) in the field educating businesses about the importance of welcoming breastfeeding patrons and supporting lactating employees.
• Use provided materials to recruit businesses and distribute window clings to those that sign up.
• Plan and coordinate two events:
  1. A celebration small business owners in Guildford County.
  2. An educational session for Guildford pharmacists or childcare providers on supporting breastfeeding patrons.
• Track recruitment outcomes by ensuring businesses complete the Breastfeeding Welcome Here Award application and entering the data into Every Baby Guildford and NCBC websites.
• Attend Every baby Guildford, Breastfeeding Coalition team meetings (every 2 weeks) to report progress and align with organizational goals.
• Develop maps to document outreach progress and ensure comprehensive community coverage.
• Attend Chamber of Commerce events as needed.

Deliverables:

• Coordination and planning of two events.
• Recruitment tracking and data entry for businesses in the Breastfeeding Friendly Community Partner initiative.
• Outreach documenting visited and targeted businesses.
• Practical work products for use and benefit of the organization, such as marketing materials or training guides.

Qualifications:

• Outgoing personality and excellent interpersonal communication skills.
• Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
• Strong organizational and data management skills.
• Interest in health equity, maternal health, or community-based public health initiatives.

Compensation:

• Reimbursement for mileage and lunch at a recruited business weekly.
• Student Practicum is unpaid but provides substantial applied public health experience.
• If no credits are being awarded, then non-students will receive $25 per hour

Geographic Focus:

Guildford County, North Carolina, with a focus on historically underutilized businesses (HUBs).

Work Arrangement:

• Partial remote work for data entry and meeting attendance.
• Onsite work required for field recruitment and event planning.
